Generally I think Earthworm Jim 2 does several things better than the first game, but has far more frustrating sections, isn’t as fun and doesn’t feel like a complete platform experience. Cutting out half the platforming to stick in mini-games doesn’t take away from the production value of the game, the music, sound effects, graphics and great controls all come together to make a really fun game. On the Sega Saturn at least, Jim looks great, the levels are beautiful and the sound is better than ever. Whip, run, jump and Snot swing your way through 10 of the most outrageous and untraditional levels anywhere. Summary: Earthworm Jim returns in a madcap chase across the galaxy saving cows and thwarting lawyers all the way. The puppy bouncing, the isometric shooter, floating around as a blind cave salamander, they’re all good mini-games, but after playing the original Earthworm Jim, you’ll probably be ready for some really solid platforming. Mixed or average reviews based on 9 Ratings. You can barely call Earthworm Jim 2 a platformer, and sometimes that gets really frustrating. ![]()
